Along with Varaždin and Zagreb in Croatia, Herning in Denmark and Oslo in Norway, Poreč is one of the host cities, hosting the national teams of France, Austria, Qatar and Kuwait during the first week of the tournament.

A record 22 games will be played in Poreč, because in the tournament's second week all the fourth-placed teams will gather in Poreč for the President's Cup.

The Žatika Sport Centre has been prepared in accordance with the highest IHF standards, which was tested by the younger generation of the handball club RK Poreč, who have played a test match, during which the final details were taken care of.
